With the 6.3.0 version of the FARO Laser Scanner firmware, some versions of the FARO Focus Laser Scanner will add a cryptographic Digital Signature
to the scans immediately after they are created. The signature is based on a hash of the scan data and makes it possible to later verify whether the recorded scan data was modified after the scan was created. The hash value of a scan can be manually checked on the scanner GUI’s Scan Properties page. In addition, the
Digital Signature of a scan can be verified using the FARO Scan Verification Tool that is described in this manual.
